This slow-spreading perennial forms a thicket of erect stems, clothed with dark green, red-tinged leaves that colour yellow in autumn. In late spring, each stem is topped with a cluster of bright, orange-red flowers. CAUTION: Harmful if eaten and the milky sap is a skin irritant.
